I get that not all 4x4s are identical and it's better to have a tight solid connection so I don't hold the manufacturers responsible, it's just the way it is. Was also short a dozen lag screws, but found some at the hardware store, not a big problem. Once together the structure is very solid and I'm sure it will last. Overall I really like it, excellent solution for shade.
We purchased the Korto Structures pergola (from Rona) and shade for our deck (with our own wood) - not the complete kit. Colour of the shade was just as expected, and it went up in a snap (literally). The click closures just snap in place on the brackets and are very secure and stay taught. When the sail arrived it had no brackets in the bag. I called customer service and got an immediate response, and they sent the brackets right away. I had them the next day. Very satisfied with our purchase!
